Early 2020 was a challenging time for many people and that particularly included maintaining mental health in the face of fear and isolation. The Tree Conference had an in person event planned in Cambridge, UK, which was cancelled due to lock down restrictions.
The Tree Conference pivoted and created a one hour online event focused on “rooting deeply” with some heartfelt insights from our speakers and the beautifully worded music of Martha Tilsdon.
This lively discussion explored how we can work with trees to root deeply into the Earth, and also resource ourselves when confined away from green spaces?
Includes:
- Our relationships with different native tree species with Glennie Kindred.
- A dive into the incredible work of Merlin Sheldrake including sharing 3D imagery of the interweaving of the root tip and mycelium of the soils.
- Panel exploring land-care choices that support the deep rooting of trees, shrubs and grasses indicate how to manage landscapes for the future.
What people said about the 2020 online conference
“Thanks so much guys for making this happen!”
“Wow. So much educational for anyone (not only for the UK folks). The 3D laser modeling of the physical mycorrhizal symbioses is awesome! And so in awe about how the recreation of woodlands is led! With amazing Trust and women wisdom (thanks Glennie and donors to TreeSisters)”
