Andover Trees United is a charitable community partnership of 25 local schools, youth groups, volunteers and businesses working in partnership with specialist environmental organisations.
Their aim over the decade 2012-2021 is to involve every young person in our community in planting 10,000 trees and in creating new woodland.
Therefore in all of the children going through those primary schools will have had the chance to plant a tree.
Thereafter planting will continue through the enhancement and creation of ‘green corridors’.
In addition, they aim to develop provision for regular volunteering in nature for all irrespective of age or ability. Through planting and managing woodland they will demonstrate care for the environment and create spaces for learning, enjoyment and enhanced well-being.
The project engages with all children and young people and through them their families in Andover. The resulting woodland will provide a resource for all to learn about and care for our natural environment.
Membership of Andover Trees United is open to anyone supporting our aims and objectives.
